All active Philadelphia stations, as well as the Camden City Hall and Broadway stations on the PATCO High Speed Line, were renovated and updated to improve their appearance and functionality, which in turn promoted increased ridership and economic development. To help achieve the DRPA’s goals, Burns provided the engineering and project management for these renovations.
Concourse-level work included the installation of a high-end long-life resin floor, epoxy ceiling and side walls, energy-efficient accent LED lighting, stainless steel column and light surrounds, artistic etchings, historical streetscape images within tiled wall sections, updated/standardized lighting for improved light levels, and hardware upgrades. In addition, the City Hall and Broadway concourses included new offices and modifications to existing office configurations.
