Burns Director, Los Angeles Region Alva Carrasco was recently appointed as the chair of American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Leadership Class committee.

APTA represents North America’s public transportation agencies, broadening support for transit funding, advancing equity goals, and fostering collaboration. Leadership APTA focuses on developing and supporting the industry’s next generation of senior executives.

In addition to serving as committee chair, Alva will continue to serve on the APTA board of directors. Previous involvement includes her role as vice chair and committee member of the APTA Leadership Class committee. She has also served as a member of the APTA Bylaws Taskforce and Diversity & Inclusion Council.

“As a proud APTA Leadership alumni (Class of 2002), I’m grateful for the opportunity to come full circle and lead this important committee to the future of our industry,” Alva said.
