Burns Fuels Power & Utilities Practice with New Austin Office

October 11, 2024

Burns is expanding our footprint across Texas.

The opening of a new Austin office marks a growing regional presence as Burns continues to provide local engineering solutions for the booming Austin and Central Texas region.

As the home for Burns’ Center of Excellence in Power & Utilities, the Austin office also supports the engineering needs of clients across the country. The center serves as an innovation hub for large-scale district heating, cooling and power solutions nationwide.

The Center of Excellence is the second Burns office in Texas, anchored by key clients including major airports as well as top-ranked higher-education, healthcare and technology campuses.

“Austin was the clear choice when deciding where to locate the next Burns office,” said Power & Utilities Practice Lead Roger Copeland, P.E. “Burns looks forward to supporting clients across the Central Texas market with key infrastructure expansion and modernization projects. At the same time, our national Power & Utilities practice is applying innovative design strategies, delivering state-of-the-art utility and microgrid solutions to meet the growing decarbonization, reliability and resilience demands of modern district energy systems.”

In Texas and beyond, clients are confronting how to electrify and decarbonize their facilities, all while keeping up with rapid growth and aging infrastructure systems. Our team is focused on bridging these goals while enhancing operational resilience and reliability.

Burns’ Center of Excellence in Power & Utilities provides capital planning, project design, and construction management services for district heating and cooling, microgrid, and distributed energy resource installations.
