Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, Nashville International Airport, Concourse A Replacement

Burns is providing technology and security systems design and engineering for the rebuild of Concourse A. The new 16-gate concourse will be a signature project within MNAA’s New Horizon capital program.

MNAA’s “New Horizon” is a six-year, $1.5-billion capital program to support Nashville International Airport’s unprecedented growth, expanding capacity while advancing the overall passenger experience.

An entirely rebuilt Concourse A will provide additional gates to accommodate more flights, moving walkways to ease travel between terminals, and a wider variety of concessions. To facilitate Concourse A reconstruction, the program includes renovations to Concourses B and C as well as a lobby expansion for ticketing, baggage claim, and airline offices.

Burns is supporting Fentress Architects with comprehensive design, engineering and construction oversight for Concourse A technology and security systems. Areas of focus include:

  • Premise Distribution Systems
  • Electronic Access Control System
  • Video Surveillance System (VSS)
  • Electronic Visual Information Display System (EVIDS)
  • Public Address System
  • Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)
  • VoIP Telephone System
  • Cable Television (CATV)

Burns recently provided MNAA with security and special technology design services throughout their BNA Vision program.
