The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority (BGPAA) held a groundbreaking event last week for Hollywood Burbank Airport’s replacement passenger terminal.
BGPAA is starting construction on the new 14-gate terminal, a new parking structure, on-airport access road, and an air cargo and maintenance facility.
The project replaces a century-old terminal with a contemporary, 355,000-square-foot building. The new terminal’s design is inspired by the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and the film industry.
Burns serves as the IT/special systems program manager, providing oversight for technology design elements on the Jacobs-led project management team. Burns is collaborating with the design-build team led by Holder, Pankow, TEC, Joint Venture (HPTJV).
The terminal will be constructed in phases. Initial operation is anticipated in October of 2026.
