Burns is leading a collaborative design effort to replace The College of New Jersey’s underground steam and condensate infrastructure system.
Burns will complete an assessment of the 300-acre campus’ existing district heating system, as well as develop a 10–15-year infrastructure replacement strategy for the top-ranked public institute.
The analysis of TCNJ’s district energy system includes a comprehensive review of existing central utilities, underground piping infrastructure, manholes, and mechanical steam equipment.
In partnership with the college, Burns will develop a long-term vision for holistically improving the steam distribution system’s performance and efficiency. Improvements will enable TCNJ to extend the lifespan of existing campus infrastructure.
